Victim or Survivor

Well this is a topic discussed mostly by psychologist to improve the living standards and change the negative mindset of different patients. But it is equally important for all of us as we come across so many situations, which prove to be the turning point in our mental and social life. Gays are a topic which has not been solved yet, some says it’s genetic but to me it is the events that mold any one from straight to gay. The situations and incidents which result in massive change in his/her life, life changing decisions which can bring him/her out of the box or can ruin his/her life forever.

A psychologist by profession shared a picture on Face Book:

My explanation to the above picture was “You are a person with lots of experience ..." Experience is what makes you a victim as time passes ...... i agree it’s not an event ..... but a series of unending events that makes one define him/her as a victim ...... it’s the society who judges you by one event and declares you a victim .......”. As an ordinary person who thinks you learn by your experiences and who fails to learn cannot succeed in life.

But she responded with the fact that “ it doesn't matter what society declares you...what matters is what YOU declares yourself...are u willing to define yourself as victim or be the survivor..!!!!!”.

As she is a practicing psychologist, yet she ignores society. If we were to ignore society for a moment then why we spend so much to dress up and look perfect, just because society accepts us or to coup up with the society. If that is not the case why don’t we move around without proper clothes, dirty clothes, smelly socks, hair not properly done and bla bla. Well to me one cannot ignore, what society thinks of him/her. In fact he/she molds herself to be part of the society which to him/her is not perfect, Otherwise he/she will be left alone. He/she may be declared psychotic or mad in some cases.

I replied again “well for a person I think .... Especially nowadays..... Influenced by Media and derived by his/her social circle..... Society does pound him with the fact (Which is not at all the only fact) that you are victim.

Agreed society doesn't matter you are who you are and nothing should change you for being what you are except the bitter experience you gain as you move on.”

Considering current times Print/Electronic Media, Social websites and Movies all are influencing our life. They are poisoning our pure judgment in any given case scenario, other than this your immense teacher is experience.
